Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engage with parts and service vendors about supplies and support. Perform liaison function between engineering, continuous improvement, and all manufacturing operations for any related issues, problems or improvements. Establish and maintain relationships with production team to keep the team advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments. Coordinates and schedules the maintenance and repairs of all equipment and building. Communicates directly with the QA and Safety departments and attends committee meetings to ensure effective participation of the maintenance department in the implementation of the QA and Safety policies and procedures. Implement projects after proper approval by Director of Maintenance & Continuous Improvement that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs. Works with project managers, equipment manufacturers, and BFI training resources to maintain and update operating and training manuals for the maintenance department. Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues. Reviews and works with procurement department to ensure adequate parts and supplies stocks to complete planned maintenance and avoid downtime Reviews, analyzes, and follows up on work orders and preventative maintenance systems to identify and correct gaps in programs Work to develop the skills and proficiencies of all members of the maintenance team. Implements programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness. Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions. Conducts one or more food safety/employee safety inspections of the facility each month. Supports the Food Safety and Quality Policies and Programs Supports the Employee Safety Plans, Goals, Programs and Procedures. Assists in the administration of the process safety management (PSM) program Other related duties may be assigned by the supervisor. It is not necessary for this position to do every assignment included in this job description although it is preferred. Required :
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer Skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet browser.
Read and Understand Blueprints Preferred :
Auto Cad; Welding certified; Refrigeration Certified; Electrician License; Mechanical Engineering; Programmable Logic Controls; Firm understanding of pipe cutting, Compressed Air, Hydraulics, Grinding and Cutting Knowledge.
SUMMARY:
Plan, implement, direct, schedule, and coordinates the daily maintenance activities of the maintenance department as directed by Director of Maintenance & Continuous Improvement. Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. Primarily focusing on the maintenance and upkeep of plant equipment, facilities, and grounds. Adhering to standard operating procedures, safety programs and policies, verifies that all equipment is in good working order, and that team members under you are trained to carry out their duties properly. Record keeping as required and corrective action plans as needed. Supports all programs and policies that ensure that product is of the highest quality, meets specifications and is safe, legal and wholesome.
