Job Description

Job Description The Fleet Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance, safety, maintenance coordination, and compliance of the company's fleet and drivers. This role works closely with drivers to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently, regulatory requirements are met, and company standards are consistently maintained. This position combines hands-on fleet support, preventative maintenance oversight, safety and compliance monitoring, and driver leadership. The ideal candidate is proactive, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of leading drivers through accountability, coaching, and operational support. Job Responsibilities Oversee fleet maintenance and preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability Perform light mechanical repairs and maintenance including: Air and cabin filter replacement Bearing seal replacement Minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks Other light repairs and maintenance Become certified and perform
CARB CTC
emissions testing for company equipment Conduct informal truck and trailer inspections to identify maintenance concerns and reduce out-of-service violations Coordinate equipment repairs with vendors and maintenance providers Review driver logs, HOS compliance, and safety-related events Monitor driver performance and address minor coaching and counseling issues Review fuel purchases, fuel routing, idle time, and fuel efficiency performance Review load securement and tarping photos to ensure compliance with company and customer standards Ensure freight is transported safely, legally, and damage-free Serve as a primary operational support contact for drivers Assist with driver onboarding, recruiting, and development when needed Help implement operational processes that improve fleet safety, compliance, efficiency, and performance Maintain accurate records related to maintenance, compliance, and fleet operations Work collaboratively with operations and management teams to support company initiatives Must be available to respond to operational, maintenance, and safety issues outside normal business hours when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned Job Qualifications Knowledge of diesel equipment maintenance and basic mechanical repair required Understanding of DOT, FMCSA, CARB, and transportation safety regulations Experience reviewing driver logs and safety compliance preferred Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to coach and hold drivers accountable Ability to identify maintenance issues before they become major problems Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office, and transportation-related software systems CDL Class A preferred but not required Prior trucking, fleet, maintenance, or transportation operations experience preferred
Pay:
$70,408.00 - $90,480.00 per year
