Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS 2-5
years of maintenance or engineering experience, including at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, along with experience using maintenance management systems. A solid understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards, such as OSHA, is essential. Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively manage teams and priorities. Possession of valid Oregon driver's license; excellent driving record and ability to be insured by the hospital's auto insurance policy.
Preferred:
Relevant field certification preferred.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Medium-heavy to Very Heavy physical demand level capabilities required. The role involves regular exposure to mechanical, electrical, and varying environmental conditions. Additionally, the position may require occasional after-hours, weekend, or on-call support to address maintenance needs and emergencies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervise and support maintenance engineering staff, including assigning work and monitoring performance Plan, schedule, and ensure completion of preventive and corrective maintenance activities Oversee maintenance and repair of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical) Respond to and coordinate resolution of urgent and emergency maintenance issues Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and organizational policies Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and equipment history Coordinate and oversee work performed by outside vendors and contractors Assist in developing and managing maintenance budgets and resources Implement and support process improvements to increase efficiency and reliability Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team Monitor inventory levels and order parts, tools, and supplies as needed Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs and facility projects
