Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Chief Engineer to lead our facilities and engineering operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and management of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems across our facilities. Your leadership will ensure that our infrastructure operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards. As a key member of our team, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage maintenance teams, and uphold the highest standards of safety and operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the efficiency of our facilities while fostering a culture of safety and teamwork. Duties Lead and supervise facilities maintenance teams to ensure timely repair and upkeep of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to optimize equipment lifespan and performance. Oversee troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of complex mechanical systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Manage projects related to facilities upgrades or renovations, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and safety standards. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations by conducting regular safety audits, training sessions, and maintaining accurate safety documentation. Perform detailed inspections of HVAC systems repair, electrical systems troubleshooting (including low voltage systems), plumbing maintenance, and industrial maintenance procedures. Utilize testing tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting; interpret schematics for system diagnostics; manage facilities maintenance management processes effectively. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and safety compliance through CMMS or other recordkeeping tools. Lead emergency response efforts related to facility issues or safety incidents while coordinating with emergency responders when necessary. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing operational data and implementing best practices in maintenance management. Skills Proven management experience leading large facilities or engineering teams with strong supervisory skills. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair including HVAC systems repair and plumbing system maintenance. Proficiency in electrical systems troubleshooting using voltmeters and ohmmeters; understanding low voltage electrical circuits is essential. Strong familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and the ability to enforce compliance across teams. Skilled in project management principles to oversee upgrades or repairs from conception through completion. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation processes. Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues. Competence in using Microsoft Office applications for reporting, documentation, and communication purposes. Knowledge of industrial maintenance procedures including the use of CMMS platforms for work order management. Excellent leadership qualities with a focus on team management, motivating staff to achieve high standards of performance. Strong understanding of facilities management principles including managing multiple trades such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance. Pay:
