Job Description

Overview BQC Foundry is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Leader to oversee all maintenance operations within our aluminum foundry. This position is responsible for leading the maintenance team, ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility. The Maintenance Leader will provide technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems while maintaining a strong focus on safety, preventive maintenance, and operational excellence. This role requires a proactive leader who can effectively manage maintenance personnel, prioritize repairs, coordinate projects, and support production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires a hands-on leader who is willing to lead by example and work extended hours, weekends, and respond to critical equipment issues when necessary to support the facility's operational needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead, supervise, train, and develop maintenance technicians to ensure safe and efficient maintenance operations. Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Coordinate maintenance priorities with production leadership to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance. Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems. Ensure timely completion of work orders and maintenance activities through the CMMS system. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime. Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction. Manage outside contractors and vendors performing maintenance, repairs, and facility projects. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and environmental requirements. Assist with capital improvement projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades. Maintain inventory levels of critical spare parts and maintenance supplies. Support root cause analysis efforts for equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Participate in budgeting, planning, and forecasting for maintenance-related expenses. Provide on-call support and respond to emergency maintenance situations as required. Provide support during planned shutdowns, emergency repairs, and production-critical situations, including working extended hours and weekends when necessary to maintain operational efficiency. Maintain flexibility to work beyond scheduled hours and respond to equipment failures or urgent maintenance needs to minimize production downtime. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. QualificationsRequired Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience leading maintenance teams. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, controls, VFDs, and PLC troubleshooting. Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, furnace, and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals. Experience utilizing CMMS software for maintenance planning and reporting. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in welding, fabrication, and equipment repair. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability and willingness to work extended hours, stay late, respond to after-hours emergencies, be on-call, and work weekends as required to support production and maintenance operations. Preferred Foundry, metals, casting, or heavy industrial manufacturing experience. Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent maintenance training. Experience with reliability-centered maintenance programs. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and moving equipment. Ability to work safely around molten metal operations and industrial machinery. Compensation Competitive salary based on experience. Bonus opportunities and comprehensive benefits package available.
