This position ensures all facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and contractual requirements. The Director provides leadership and direction to facilities personnel, manages vendors and contractor relationships, oversees departmental budgets, and develops long-term maintenance and asset management strategies that supports Familylinks' mission, operational goals, and commitment to providing safe and supporting environments.
Wage range:
$85k-$98k annually
Position Qualifications and Requirements:
A minimum of an associate's degree in related field plus three (3) years related experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of relevant experience. Demonstrated experience in preventative maintenance programs, capital planning, budget management, staff supervision, contract administration, procurement and purchasing, and project management across multiple facilities. Professional certification such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), and/or OSHA certifications preferred. Experience maintaining OSHA standards, building codes, and other compliance needs. Experience reviewing projects, including negotiating best prices. Not-for-profit background experiences a plus. Strong computer skills and written and verbal communication. Ability to self-direct, be flexible, and problem-solve. Support the organization's mission along with sensitivity of cultural and workplace harmony.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide strategic and tactical leadership, direct, coach, and develop staff to achieve performance goals and objectives. Provide leadership in the areas of facilities management, risk reduction, performance metrics, work process efficiency, and team performance. Analyze overall facilities functions and make recommendations on operating decisions to meet regulation requirements. Oversee and provide guidance and support to the Facilities Manager on facilities projects and general maintenance and ensure all facilities are operating by state and local code while maintaining a safe work environment for staff. Develop departmental goals, metrics, and key performance indicators to measure facility performance, preventative maintenance completion rates, work order efficiency, safety compliance, and budget performance. Collaborate with other Familylinks departments to align facilities operations, capital planning, safety initiatives, and resource allocation with organizational goals and strategic priorities. Establish and manage an effective on-call strategy for afterhours emergencies. Develop, implement, and oversee agency-wide policies, procedures, and standards related to facilities operations, maintenance, safety, security, emergency preparedness, fleet management, and regulatory compliance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practice. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors/contractors and maintain a database of qualified vendors and contractors. Oversee internal/external audits and other compliance/facility inspections. Resolve conflicts with vendors and contractors. Develop policies and procedures related to facilities and compliance. Ensure project costs and/or purchases remain within budgeted line items. Ensure agency purchases are within the procurement policy guidelines. Interview, hire, train, and evaluate staff, and maintain approved staffing levels. Conduct on-site investigations of critical maintenance issues. Manage and coordinate the vehicle fleet including purchases, leases, insurance, registrations, insurance claims, and all safety related issues. Plan, organize, and coordinate all phases of Fire, Safety, and Security operations including off duty and weekend inspections of security as part of normal work requirements.
