SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

SUPERVISOR, WS-5801-13, you will plan on a quarterly or longer basis, the overall use of subordine personnel and resources under their control. Determine resource requirements, merials, the number of subordines and the types of skill necessary to accomplish long-range work schedules. Assign and explain work requirements and opering instructions to subordine supervisors, sets deadlines, and establishes the sequence of work operions to be followed. Maintain balanced workloads by shifting assignments, workers, and other resources to achieve the most effective work operions. Assure th subordine supervisors effectively carry out policies to achieve management objectives. Recommend promotion or reassignment of subordine supervisors, makes formal appraisals of their performance, and determines their training needs. Develop, publish, and ensure employee compliance with standing opering procedures for the activity supervised. Implements and complies with agency, ste, and federal regulory Occupional Safety and Health, and environmental requirements. Prepare for and participe in various types of readiness evaluions, inspections, mobilizion and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operion, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a team member on boards to cope with nural disasters or civil emergencies. GENERAL EXPERIENCE

: Experience or training which demonstres th the candide has the ability to organize assignments for subordines, estime merial and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, applicant must indice experience which demonstres the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience th provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstres the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communice knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situions.
