Contract The Maintenance Planner Lead develops comprehensive job packages to support the safe, effective, and efficient execution of maintenance work. This role translates work order scopes into detailed plans identifying required labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, procedures, and safety requirements.
The position requires advanced knowledge of maintenance processes, procedures, and systems and may serve as a working team lead, providing technical guidance and coordinating the work of others. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed job packages based on work order scope, ensuring all required labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, procedures, and safety requirements are identified.
Review work orders for technical completeness and return incomplete work orders to the appropriate gatekeeper for clarification or correction.
Conduct field checks as needed to validate job scope and planning requirements.
Enter and maintain maintenance plans in the Global Engineering and Maintenance Tracking System (GEMTS).
Identify task activities and the resources required to safely and efficiently execute maintenance work.
Incorporate feedback from maintenance personnel to continuously improve and optimize work plans.
Identify and solicit applicable safety information and requirements for planned work.
Ensure job packages comply with the Maintenance Procedure Use Policy, including verification that required procedures are available or that the task is covered by the Procedure Exemption List.
Verify that maintenance procedures include appropriate hazard assessments.
Serve as a technical resource during procedure development and review.
Create, revise, and maintain job procedures, checklists, and related documentation.
Initiate Management of Change (MOC) processes for procedures when required.
Provide subject matter guidance and coordinate work activities as a working team lead when needed. Required Qualifications Associate's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or a related discipline.
2-5 years of relevant hands-on maintenance, manufacturing, or planning experience preferred.
Strong understanding of maintenance planning processes, procedures, and work execution requirements.
Ability to interpret work scopes and develop detailed, accurate job plans.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance personnel and other stakeholders.
Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and procedural compliance. Additional Information This is a true Maintenance Planner Lead role focused on maintenance planning and job package development.
Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) experience is not required.
