Maintenance Planner Lead Orange , Texas
Contract:
VMS The Maintenance Planner Lead is responsible for developing comprehensive job packages that enable the safe, efficient, and effective execution of maintenance work. This role reviews work scopes, plans labor, materials, equipment, and services, and ensures all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and established procedures. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical maintenance background, hands-on equipment experience, and expertise in maintenance planning systems. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed job packages from work order scopes, including labor, materials, tools, equipment, and contractor services. Review work orders for technical completeness and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve gaps before planning. Conduct field walk-downs as needed to validate work scope and planning requirements. Enter maintenance plans into the Global Engineering and Maintenance Tracking System (GEMTS). Identify task sequences, required resources, and safety requirements for each job. Ensure all job packages include the appropriate maintenance procedures or approved procedure exemptions prior to release. Verify maintenance procedures include required hazard assessments. Create, revise, and maintain maintenance procedures, checklists, and Management of Change (MOC) documentation as needed. Incorporate feedback from maintenance teams to continuously improve job plans and execution. Serve as a technical resource during maintenance procedure development and reviews. Provide guidance and coordinate work activities as a technical lead when required. Required Qualifications Associate degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent hands-on maintenance experience. 5-7 years of relevant maintenance experience preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Strong mechanical maintenance background with experience servicing industrial equipment and understanding equipment isolation, removal from service, and return to operation. Experience using SAP for maintenance planning. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with Power BI is required. Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Platinum and TOADFLY turnaround planning tools. Previous experience in industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, or similar plant environments. Experience leading planning activities or providing technical guidance to maintenance teams.
