Share in the success of our company! Dental and Vision Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage all equipment, maintenance and repair activities for company-owned equipment and vehicles. Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs. Supervise Shop Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Field Mechanics, and maintenance support personnel. Coordinate equipment repairs, service schedules, inspections, and rebuilds. Monitor equipment downtime and implement corrective actions to improve reliability. Prioritize repair activities based on project needs and operational requirements. Investigate equipment failures and perform root cause analysis. Ensure accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and service histories are maintained. Oversee maintenance management software and work order systems. Manage parts inventory, shop supplies, and maintenance procurement activities. Coordinate warranty repairs and manufacturer support programs. Maintain shop facilities, service trucks, tools, and equipment. Develop maintenance budgets and monitor maintenance expenditures. Ensure compliance with company safety policies and maintenance procedures. Conduct maintenance-related safety meetings and training programs. Collaborate with Operations, Superintendents, and Equipment & Fleet Management to support project schedules. Evaluate mechanic performance and provide coaching, training, and development opportunities. Monitor compliance with DOT inspection requirements and equipment maintenance regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, fleet maintenance, or diesel repair. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience managing maintenance personnel. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and heavy equipment diagnostics. Experience managing maintenance programs and repair operations. Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and technical documentation. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications Technical degree in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, or related field. Commercial Driver's License (CDL). OEM certifications from Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo, Case, Hitachi, or similar manufacturers. Welding and fabrication experience. Experience with maintenance management software and telematics systems. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Physical Requirements Ability to walk maintenance facilities, equipment yards, and active construction projects. Ability to climb on and inspect heavy equipment. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and inspect equipment regularly. Working Conditions Combination of shop, yard, and field environments. Exposure to heavy equipment, moving machinery, grease, oils, fuel, noise, vibration, and outdoor weather conditions. Frequent interaction with mechanics, operators, superintendents, project managers, and vendors. Overtime and emergency repair coordination may be required.
