The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing a team of Electrical Technicians to ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous operation of all electrical and control systems within the facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining high-precision manufacturing equipment used in magnet production, including PLC-controlled systems, automated production machinery, power distribution systems, and instrumentation. The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor will drive preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, support troubleshooting of complex electrical and automation equipment failures, and ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational standards. This position requires strong technical expertise in industrial electrical systems, leadership capability, and a hands-on approach in a fast-paced, start-up manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Team Leadership & Supervision Lead, coach, and supervise Electrical Technicians across multiple shifts Plan, assign, and prioritize daily maintenance activities to meet production and operational goals Provide ongoing training, mentoring, and performance feedback to develop team capability Support staffing needs, onboarding, and skill development within the electrical maintenance team Maintenance & Equipment Reliability Oversee execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all electrical and control systems Ensure reliability and performance of equipment including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, sensors, instrumentation, and power distribution systems Develop and implement strategies to reduce unplanned downtime and improve equipment reliability Partner with engineering and operations teams on continuous improvement and automation initiatives Technical Troubleshooting Act as the primary escalation point for complex electrical and control system issues Diagnose and resolve failures on critical production equipment, including PLC-controlled systems and automated machinery Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective and preventive actions Support installation, commissioning, and optimization of new electrical systems and equipment CMMS & Inventory Management Utilize CMMS to track work orders, maintenance history, and equipment performance Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability of critical electrical components Work with procurement to source parts and maintain cost-effective inventory levels Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities and system changes Safety & Compliance Enforce all safety policies and procedures, including LOTO and electrical safety standards (NFPA 70E) Promote a strong safety culture through training, audits, and accountability Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal regulations Participate in safety investigations and drive corrective actions
Qualifications :
Associate's degree or relevant Technical Certification in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field Strong trade qualification (Journeyman or Master Electrician) is highly desirable
Experience Level :
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an Electrical Technician in a heavy industrial or high-speed manufacturing environment Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership, lead technician, or supervisory role
