Overview We are seeking a motivated Lead Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will provide leadership and work direction to maintenance technicians to ensure the manufacture of Cordica Medical products meet customer quality and company cost expectations. This position is at the crossroads of being a technical leader in all Cordica Medical equipment in his/ her area and a people leader capable of thinking through work priorities and labor schedules. Responsibilities Leads maintenance technicians by communicating job expectations, priorities, planning, monitoring, and counseling Provides mentorship and coaching to all maintenance technicians to ensure that they are successful. Provides training recommendations to increase technician group's capabilities Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of powered equipment Monitor process performance metrics (OEE, Defect Rates, Process RFT, Cp, and Cpk) to identify potential unfavorable machine performance trends that lead to opportunities for improvement Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains production equipment in his or her area Tracks and monitors equipment for performance to expected output standards and effectuates repairs as required Responds in a timely manner to effectuate repairs for down equipment/ machines Escalates issues that cannot be resolved to Area Manager/ Research & Development Manager/ Plant Manager as required by calling for repairs to down or poorly performing equipment Evaluate new equipment and techniques; work directly with vendors or customers to improve our processes Assist in refining preventive maintenance program requirements for his/ her area and equipment Ensures all safety measures are in place for his or her equipment/ area and maintenance technicians wear appropriate personal protective equipment Listens openly to maintenance technicians, supervisors' and/ or operators' feedback on machine performance to understand the issue(s) and set clear priorities Have a product quality mindset. Assists QA in trouble shooting/ root cause analysis for products and processes Assists QA and R&D during development trials and qualifications Occasionally leads or participates in continuous improvement activities; adheres to 5S and implements improvements Interview and assess skill levels for potential Maintenance Technician hires; make hiring recommendations Other duties as assigned Qualifications 7+ years of previous experience in maintenance support of a production facility with the following skills: a. Specific experience troubleshooting and repairing production equipment b. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems and components is required c. Strong knowledge of pneumatic solenoids and cylinders and the techniques to troubleshoot d. Understanding of variable frequency drives (VFD) and motion control e. HMI troubleshooting and the ability to make basic changes f. Solid understanding of 3-Phase power and the ability to properly use a digital multimeter g. Experience with Ink Jet Printers and laser marking is highly desired h. ISO9001 - comfortable working effectively within quality systems and audits i. Experience in GMP regulated environment Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Strong knowledge of machine shop equipment and capabilities Computer literate with a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel Adequate written and verbal communication skills Good communication skills are a must Education /
