  • Odin Heavy Industries is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager who owns equipment reliability, utilities stability, preventative maintenance systems, and the development of a disciplined, high-performance maintenance culture.
This leader must be capable of diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical systems, understanding PLC-controlled equipment, and managing plant-wide factory wiring infrastructure
  • while building systems and leading people. This is a leadership role that requires both technical depth and operational discipline. Qualifications and skills required:
Attitude and Personality:
Candidates must show willingness to learn on and off the job with a desire for continual improvement of themselves and their workplace. The candidate must show good attention to detail as well as a strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions. We need HIGH energy candidates.•
Mathematics:
The candidate must know how to use a scientific calculator, understand addition, subtraction, multiplication, trigonometry, and some basic algebra.•
Physical:
You must be able to lift 45 lbs to chest level. You must be prepared to stand during work hours.
  • Problem solving:
The candidate must be prepared to solve problems with the help of shop leadership. Good communication skills are necessary.•
Mechanical Skills:
The candidate must be able to demonstrate they are mechanically inclined and know how to use or can learn how to use basic tools such as socket wrenches.
  • Computer skills:
You must understand how to use spreadsheets, word processor, and some experience with LabVIEW or a similar programming environment.
  • Electronics skills:
You must understand how a multimeter works, and how to use it. How to wire instrumentation such as pressure transducers and thermocouples.
  • High school diploma required; technical degree preferred.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years industrial maintenance experience
  • 3+ years leadership experience
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems and control logic
  • Working knowledge of industrial factory wiring.
  • Ability to diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Strong mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to solve problems with minimal supervision
  • Experience working directly with OEM equipment suppliers
Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Reliability & Uptime Ownership
  • Own plant-wide equipment uptime and reliability
  • Reduce unplanned downtime through structured root cause analysis
  • Implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance systems
  • Diagnose recurring failures and eliminate systemic issues
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts during major breakdowns
  • Escalate intelligently to OEMs or vendors when required 2. Electrical, PLC & Factory Wiring Oversight
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar preferred)
  • Ability to:
  • Interpret ladder logic
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment
  • Diagnose input/output faults
  • Work with technicians or integrators to resolve control issues
  • Working knowledge of factory wiring infrastructure, including:
  • Control panels
  • Motor starters and VFDs
  • Sensors and field devices
  • Three-phase systems
  • Industrial safety circuits
  • Ability to read and interpret:
  • Wiring diagrams
  • Electrical schematics
  • Panel layouts
  • Machine documentation
  • Ensure safe and compliant electrical installations
  • Oversee upgrades and modifications to plant electrical systems 3. Mechanical, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems
  • Oversee troubleshooting of:
  • Hydraulic pumps, valves, and cylinders
  • Pneumatic systems and controls
  • Motors, gearboxes, drives, and mechanical assemblies
  • Validate precision alignment and machine leveling
  • Ensure high-quality, clean, professional repairs 4. Maintenance Systems & Process Discipline
  • Build structures PM schedules
  • Ensure TPM checklists are followed
  • Maintain maintenance documentation for audits (iso/customer compliance)
  • Track energy use (air, water, power)
  • Improve planned vs. reactive maintenance ratio 5. Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead and develop maintenance technicians across shifts.
  • Train team members in:
  • Troubleshooting logic
  • PLC basics
  • Electrical Safety
  • Precision measurement
  • Hydraulic/pneumatic diagnostics
  • Enforce 5S and safety standards
  • Build escalation protocols and accountability systems 6. Vendor & Spare Parts Management
  • Manage critical spare inventory
  • Prevent breakdowns due to missing parts
  • Coordinate with machine suppliers and service vendors
  • Manage maintenance budget responsibly
