BRIEF DESCRIPTION
This is a working supervisory position that involves a combination of duties including; supervision, maintenance and agronomic management of the golf course maintenance equipment, irrigation systems, vehicles, related buildings/facilities and perform the daily activities necessary to perform the functions of the position.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of golf course maintenance operations Skills in oral and written communication Ability to instruct others in the techniques of golf course maintenance Ability to service and make minor repairs to equipment and to know safety standards to prevent hazards Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment such as mower and trimmers Ability to meet and work with the public in a friendly and courteous manner Knowledge of golfing equipment and supplies Ability to budget the costs of operation Ability to coordinate course maintenance and repair Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting golf course operation and environmental management Ability to executive in terms of problem solving and decision making
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or its equivalent, and five years of experience in golf course maintenance and at least two years of experience in a supervisory capacity; must have proven management, decision making, and problem solving skills. Experience implementing an Integrated Pest Management Program. Requires advanced knowledge of agronomy and turf grass practices; prefer a degree in Agronomy or Turf grass Management from an accredited educational institution. Requires knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting the management of a golf course including environmental standards OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to complete the job will be considered.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED A
Valid Class C Texas driver license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record Applicable Texas pesticide applicators license must be maintained Prefer Certified Golf Course Superintendent from the Golf Course Superintendents of America (GCSAA).
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND SAFETY HAZARDS
Primarily in an outdoor environment with the ability to operate indoors when needed. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during summer and winter months.

Tractors, reel-type and rotary mowing equipment, string trimmer, chain saw, etc.
