SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Area Manager is responsible overseeing for the daily operation of the assigned maintenance areas. This includes but is not limited to ensuring proper support of production needs, writing, and implementing SOP's, filling in during the absence of the Maintenance Manager, and the oversight of the Maintenance Supervisors.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include, but are not limited to, the following: Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation. Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities of assigned areas. Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, and sanitation policies within the assigned maintenance department(s). Effectively coordinate and direct activities of the maintenance department. Organize personnel and set daily tasks for shift supervisors. Identify areas of opportunity and recommend improvements on staffing, financial/cost, and quality within the department. Complete appropriate paperwork daily. Oversee training and developing employees in all areas related to their jobs. Observe work area as well as the plant to ensure that known hazards are reported or corrected, and that all safety reporting and accident investigations are handled in a timely manner. Maintain relevant records and ensuring OSHA standards and programs are implemented. Assist in instruction of the use of personal protective equipment. Coordinate team member schedules, handle clock reports and attendance records. Ensure monthly safety meetings are completed. Complete other tasks as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have supervisory responsibility. EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
Required Associate degree in related field AND 7+ years of maintenance experience OR 9+ years of progressively responsible maintenance experience Supervisory experience Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbal Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems George's is committed to providing reasonable accommodation to, among others, individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans.
