The purpose of this position is to lead a crew of 8-15 personnel with vehicles and equipment in repairing and maintaining roadways and right of way facilities (pavement, shoulders, landscaping, facilities, equipment, guardrails, walls, fencing, drainage, rights of way, and bridges) along an assigned 8-10-mile section of road corridor and ensuring the roadway is open and available for the public. This is accomplished by inspecting work performed along the roadway, supervising, and coordinating crew maintenance and repair activities, ensuring all tools and supplies are available, providing instruction and training, assisting with emergency events, establishing lane closures, coordinating with public safety personnel during emergency response, and maintaining maintenance repair records. Other duties include responding to emergencies, responding to weather-related emergencies, and acting in the absence of the Roadway Supervisor.

This is a safety-sensitive position as defined in the NTTA employee handbook. This is a designated Essential Employee position as defined in the NTTA Employee Handbook. An essential employee is one whose attendance is required to maintain agency operations during an emergency or inclement weather situation.
Starting Rate:
$25/
Hourly Retention Bonus:
$2,000 Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the United States immediately. This position is not available for H1-B visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities:
Serves customers by addressing patron concerns, responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and coordinating information with local cities. Ensures roadway maintenance and repair tasks are completed in a timely manner by providing counseling and coaching, recommending solutions to maintenance demands, and assisting with scheduling maintenance while minimizing wasted materials and controlling costs. Reviews and updates staff on roadway maintenance and repair requirements, plans and inspects repairs, determines materials to be used, plans backfill requirements, maintains maintenance and repair records, and inputs work orders in the Agencys work order system. Performs administrative tasks such as generating work orders, planning and scheduling work, generating reports and cost estimates, scheduling and documenting time and labor costs, monitoring crew progress, and assisting with appraisal and progress reports. Monitors safety and training by identifying the needs and current skill level of subordinates, planning, and coordinating safety and training meetings, ensuring guidelines are followed, identifying job hazards, coordinating vendor training, and working with Roadway Supervisors on new training and safety initiatives.
Qualifications:

6-months/1-year of advanced training or education beyond a high school diploma 5•7 years experience Valid Texas Class A CDL Ability to obtain tanker endorsement within 12 months of hire.
