water or 7580 wastewater Brief Description The purpose of this position is to work in a lead capacity to maintain and repair Brazos River Authority (BRA) water and/or wastewater facilities, equipment, projects, and grounds. This is accomplished by overseeing less experienced employees while performing preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment; maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding pumps, motors, blowers, and plumbing; monitoring plant functions; diagnosing and repairing malfunctions or breakdowns on plant equipment; and performing general and preventative maintenance on BRA buildings and grounds. Other responsibilities include providing input on budget expenditures; ordering supplies; fabricating equipment; assisting with training and mentoring less experienced plant maintenance technicians; assisting with general administrative functions; performing general and preventative building maintenance; performing grounds maintenance at facilities; painting equipment, buildings, and structures; communicating Plant Maintenance Crew Leader's instructions to staff; and any other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Minimum six years' experience or equivalent combination of experience Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and Good Driving Record Class D Water and/or C Wastewater Certification Must obtain a Class C Water and/or C Wastewater Certification within six months of hire Approved Hazmat training is required within six months of hire
Preferred:
Welding/Fabrication, Industrial Electrical Repair, and Pump/Motor Maintenance repair experience Maintenance Certification High School Diploma - Awarded for the completion of High School. Key Competencies Ensuring that work accomplished is accurate in all relevant aspects. Handling a large amount of work efficiently and effectively. Effectively adapting to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and sudden or frequent changes in priority in order to accomplish objectives. Managing crises so there is minimal cost to the organization and minimal detriment to personal well-being (e.g. health, family, etc.). Staying motivated even when faced with inevitable delays, setbacks, policy shifts and disappointment.
STARTING SALARY RANGE
Min:
$28.03 to $35.74 hourly salary. This is a non-exempt position.

Today, BRA's staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
