This role is vital in ensuring our building and grounds are safe, attractive, and well-maintained, for the 100's of people flowing through our church each week. Pastor Church Council Qualifications:
High school diploma General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or technical school diploma/certificate. Minimum of two years' experience in maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC industries, or evidence of competency in these areas.
Position Requirements:
Must be able to perform required duties and responsibilities of the position which include standing for extended periods of time, bending, stooping, and lifting at least fifty pounds. Must be able to read blueprints and written manuals. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Experience with (or working knowledge of) power tools, hand tools, etc. Must be able to pass a comprehensive background screening and Child Abuse Prevention Training.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for regular inspection of Church, grounds, and equipment to identify repair and maintenance needs. Maintain and properly store all church equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electrical tools, and plumbing tools. Report maintenance concerns and problems to the DFOM. Complete necessary repairs and maintenance in a timely manner. Perform maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, and drywall repair, painting, and other repairs/upgrades. When appropriate, liaison with any specialized contractors hired, to ensure the job is completed satisfactorily within the agree upon scope of work. Oversee any volunteer maintenance work done for First Lutheran. Create and maintain a Facilities Maintenance Log to ensure routine maintenance and inspection of all facility systems and property. Create and maintain an inventory/asset list. Set and reset various rooms of the church, as instructed. Collaborate with staff and members on completion of assigned projects. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local building codes. Report to the DFOM any issues which hinder or prevent the carrying out of the duties or responsibilities. Collaborate with pastor, staff, council and members to further the mission and vision of First Lutheran. Comply with all First Lutheran safety guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
