Job Description
Shop Foreman / Steel Fabricator Houser Fabrication, LLC is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman / Steel Fabricator to join our team. This position is responsible for overseeing daily shop operations, supervising fabrication personnel, and participating in the fabrication and welding of structural and miscellaneous steel projects. Key Responsibilities Shop Leadership & Production Supervise and coordinate daily shop activities and personnel. Assign work, monitor productivity, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Review drawings and specifications to ensure work is completed accurately. Coordinate production schedules, material needs, and workflow with management. Fabrication & Welding Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications. Layout, fit, fabricate, and weld steel components according to project requirements. Operate fabrication equipment including saws, ironworkers, drills, shears, and other shop machinery. Perform MIG, stick, and other welding processes as required. Quality & Safety Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control. Inspect fabricated products and completed welds for accuracy and compliance. Enforce company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety requirements. Materials & Inventory Monitor material inventory and communicate purchasing needs. Minimize waste and ensure efficient use of materials and shop resources. Training & Team Development Provide guidance and training to shop employees. Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the shop. Qualifications Experience in structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and welding. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Knowledge of fabrication equipment, welding procedures, and shop safety practices. Ability to lift, move, and work with steel materials in a fabrication environment. OSHA 30 certification preferred. Shift for this position is typically Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm. Hours are subject to change depending on the assigned job and owner's discretion. The shop is located at 205 S. May Street, Madisonville, TX 77864.
