This role ensures equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with the regulatory standards while supporting uninterrupted utility service. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage and supervise maintenance personnel responsible for pumps, motors, and related equipment across multiple facilities. Ability to diagnose, repair, and replace various sensors, floats, and components associated with water and wastewater facilities. Knowledge and understanding of facilities maintenance and repair as it pertains to electrical and plumbing needs when applicable. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently when the department potentially needs to contract work out and provide support as to why to management. Develop, implement, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Plan, schedule, and prioritize daily, weekly, and long-term maintenance activities. Ensure timely response to equipment failures and coordinate emergency repairs to minimize downtime. Oversees installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair of pumps, motors, drives, and control systems. Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades or replacements to improve efficiency and reliability. Review and approve service orders and timesheets for accuracy and completeness. Coordinate with operations staff and district managers to ensure maintenance activities align with district needs and requirements. Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and critical equipment. Develop and manage estimates for jobs as required. Ensure compliance with safety and company policies, OSHA standards, and environmental regulations. Coordinate and manage contractors and vendors for repairs and services. Provide technical guidance and training to staff on proper maintenance practices and safety procedures. Manage Smartsheet system and provide reports on equipment status, maintenance activities to management team and attend required meetings prepared to update and answer questions as needed. Qualifications Minimum of three (3) years of experience in water and wastewater facility (pump and motor) maintenance or equivalent certification and training pertaining to the requirements of the position. Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to plan work, manage teams, and meet deadlines in multi-site environments. High attention to detail and quality in job tasks. Elevated Customer Service skills - ability to communicate clearly and concisely Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, especially in Excel; Highschool diploma or GED (Required) Electrical or mechanical certifications (Preferred) TCEQ Water Distribution certification (Preferred) TCEQ Wastewater Collections certification (preferred) Valid Driver's License (Required) Physical Demand Substantial and frequent movements of climbing, squatting, bending, standing, walking, etc. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or move objects. Manual dexterity sufficient to handle items and operate tools (both light and heavy duty) May occasionally work in confined spaces Maintain proper PPE for all assigned tasks Work Environment Combination of office and field environment. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions Wastewater environments Potential noise, mechanical and chemical hazards. Frequent travel between facilities around the Greater Austin Area - vehicle will be provided. Work Hours/Schedule Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (core) On-call availability for emergencies as needed.
Pay:
$88,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
