Job Description

Sterling Court located in Saint George is hiring full time Maintenance Director. The Maintenance Personnel scheduled days would vary as needed. Hours would be 8:30am - 5:00pm. We are looking for a motivated, task-starter employee who enjoys working with the others. Committed to a drug free workplace. DOJ and FBI background clearance. Wage Note•: During training period candidate's rate may be subject to Federal Minimum wage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect all aspects of new construction, repair work, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance and supplies. Ensure the outside of the property is maintained, including landscaping, drain systems and garbage/trash removal. Perform maintenance, stage and refurbish vacant apartment before move ins. Inspect vacant rooms to ensure proper heating in winter and of AC in summer. Perform limited plumbing, electrical, equipment, and structural repair work on community buildings. Ensure city, county, state and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times. Conduct regular inspections of life safety systems, including fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems. Inspect roofs for obvious failures of flashing, skylights, debris on roof. Inspect vacant apartments for water damage, leaks, etc. Perform exterior light inspections including mechanical rooms, pump rooms and building exterior. Maintain records and files on maintenance functions and trainings Responsible for hiring, training and scheduling of maintenance personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS
Age 21 or older. High School Diploma, GED or equivalency required. Eighteen months of education and training beyond high school level in general maintenance and repair, or a closely related area preferred. Two years' experience in general maintenance or other maintenance responsibilities that would include the ability to recognize electrical, plumbing, and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failures. Formal training in related fields will substitute on a year-for year basis. Ability to perform and/or coordinate emergency building repairs. Experience working on electrical, plumbing projects and construction-related repairs. Ability to service and inspect HVAC and emergency generator systems. Ability to train community management teams in the operations of emergency systems. Maintain current First Aid certification and CPR certification. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English Language.
