Job Description Job Description Job Description About the Role Sparks Car Care is seeking an experienced, hands-on Shop Foreman to serve as a working front-line supervisor in our automotive repair shop. This role combines technical expertise with leadership to keep our shop running efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities Maintain the shop in excellent condition for cleanliness, safety, and equipment readiness, including periodic spot checks to support high-quality service. Dispatch repair orders to maximize efficient use of shop resources and technician time. Monitor daily workflow and communicate with office staff and management about repair delays, vehicle status, and estimated completion times. Test and inspect customer vehicles for reported concerns, safe operation, and recommended maintenance. Assist and coach technicians with technical skills, provide support as needed, and monitor individual performance and productivity. Supervise and instruct technicians to ensure consistent, high-quality work. Communicate clearly with office personnel and management regarding completion times, parts needs, and vehicle conditions. Perform final quality checks and road tests on completed vehicles to minimize comebacks and uphold service standards. Secondary Responsibilities Participate in shop meetings as required. Advise management on technician performance, behavior, and skill-development opportunities. Attend required training to stay current with industry standards and technology. Support overall housekeeping and organization of the shop. Ensure all shop equipment is properly maintained, clean, and in good working order. Organize daily tasks, work assignments, and training schedules for yourself and the team. Requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. ASE certified in all eight automotive specialty areas. Minimum of 10 years of experience as an automotive technician. Proficient with diagnostic tools and software such as ProDemand, Snap-on Verus, AllData, Direct-Hit, and similar platforms. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Valid state driver's license. Additional Skills Strong organizational abilities for daily task management and staff training coordination. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop environment.
