Fortress Nutrition is growing, and we're looking for a strong, hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team and support daily operations. This is a working supervisor role, meaning you'll be actively on the floor alongside your team - troubleshooting equipment, supporting repairs, and driving uptime in a fast-paced food/beverage manufacturing environment. This is not a desk role - you will lead by example, working side-by-side with your team to solve problems, improve processes, and keep production running.
Schedule:
1st Shift
Monday-Friday:
9:00am-5:00pm
Overtime required during the week and on weekends as needed to support production and maintenance demands
Must be available to support off-shift or emergency situations when necessary What You'll Do:
Supervise and lead Maintenance Technicians by setting expectations, coaching, and providing feedback
Actively work on the floor performing troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment support alongside the team
Assign technicians to production line calls based on priority and ensure timely resolution
Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities
Plan and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, issues, and completed repairs
Support production teams with technical troubleshooting and process improvements
Inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs
Train and develop technicians to improve skill sets and overall team performance
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for repairs, installations, and projects
Monitor inventory of maintenance materials and equipment
Support capital projects, installations, and facility improvements
Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and regulatory standards (OSHA, FDA, EPA, etc.)
Provide support for off-hours or emergency maintenance situations as needed
Perform all other duties as assigned What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 5 years of electrical/mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
3+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience
Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and production equipment
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Must be reliable, accountable, and able to lead by example
Ability to work overtime and support off-shift or emergency needs
Must operate with a high sense of urgency and ownership. This role requires immediate response to equipment issues, strong decision-making, and hands-on leadership to minimize downtime. Delays in response or lack of engagement can significantly impact production. Individuals who are not proactive, responsive, and comfortable working on the floor will not be successful in this role. Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field
Experience in food, beverage, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
Experience with high-speed packaging equipment and PLC systems
Experience troubleshooting and installing production lines
Strong machining and welding skills
Knowledge of GMPs, CFR, and food safety regulations
Project management experience with ability to drive initiatives to completion
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Frequent use of hands to operate tools and equipment
Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing (stairs/platforms), and reaching
Talking, hearing; reaching above shoulders; using hands to finger, handle, grasp, pinch or touch objects, controls, tools or equipment
Occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs Work Environment
Exposure to dust, dry powder, and wet processes
Exposure to food allergens (e.g., dairy, soy, etc.)
