Job Description

ST. ANNE CATHOLIC PARISH
Maintenance Director Overview:
The Maintenance Director coordinates all aspects of the physical plant and campus to allow for an efficient, safe and clean environment in which to offer worship and other aspects of parish life.
Hours:
6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mon-Fri, as well as evenings and weekends as warranted.
General Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance of buildings and grounds. Operates and provides routine maintenance on all mechanical systems including plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning, fire alarm and sprinkler systems. Assures the church, school building, rectory, and storage buildings are maintained in a clean and orderly manner, which includes auto-scrubbing and vacuuming of floors, cleaning bathrooms and washing of windows per schedule and as needed. Assures the grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner. Responsible for mowing, watering and edging lawns, pruning and raking, snow removal with plowing equipment and hand shovels, and sweeping walkways, including coordinating outside snow removal and lawn care. Responsible for the collection of garbage and recycling program including yard waste recycling. Provides other general assistance as needed through setting up chairs, tables, hauling and moving items and picking up parts or equipment as requested. Ability to lift 50+ lbs. on occasion as well as work from ladders of various heights. Proficient in frequent use of computers, email, and texting with the ability to learn and use proprietary HVAC scheduling system and other facility specific applications and programs. Responsible for building security and coordinates the opening and locking of the building with Pastor, Finance Director and custodial staff. 2. Maintains appropriate communication, which includes daily communication with Pastor, Finance Director and School Principal. Regular contact with the Buildings & Grounds Committee. Attend Pastoral, Finance and committee meetings as needed. Communicate with and monitor outside contractors. Accompany all inspectors (fire, health, insurance, EPA, etc.) on their rounds. - Communicates as requested or needed with other parish staff, as well as parishioners, volunteers and outside groups and individuals. 3. Supervises custodial staff. Communicate regularly with custodial staff to arrange for scheduling and organization of duties, as well as to offer training, encouragement and guidance. Reviews performance of custodial staff on a regular basis. Maintains clean, safe, and organized environment in workshop area. 4. Purchase supplies and maintain a cost-effective and efficient inventory within budget guidelines, coordinating contracts and other vendor/contractor arrangements with the Finance Director, and verifying delivery and condition of purchases. 5. Assist with other aspects of parish life as warranted, including but not limited to fish fry and summer festival, as well as other tasks and responsibilities in collaboration with the Pastor. Term of Employment The Maintenance Director is an hourly position 40/hours/week. Wages and Benefits as established by the Diocese and determined by the Pastor in consultation with the Finance Council.
Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour
