Full-time Summary:
The purpose of this class within the organization is to supervise and lead a crew in the day-to-day operations in performing a variety of tasks in the maintenance and repair of City streets, highways and other public spaces. This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures, but determines how or when to complete tasks.Work Hours:
This position will be expected to work a schedule established by the Department Head. Typical hours will be 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sunday- Thursday.

Include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assists in establishing expectations, monitoring and evaluating the performance of subordinate employees. Supervises and leads a street crew in daily activities and special events. Monitors, oversees, supervises and directs the day-to-day operational activities and progress of a Street Department work crew in performing maintenance and repair work on City streets, highways and other public spaces, including, but not limited to blacktop and/or street repair and maintenance; street sweeping and/or cleaning; general and/or basic construction repair and/or maintenance; ditch line repair and/or maintenance; and leaf collection, maintenance and/or disposal. Assists with street closures and/or traffic detours during special events. Assists with special event set-up and take down. Drives salt/plow truck when necessary and required. Assists with tree, limb, and/or other debris clean-up when necessary and required. Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments and activities; reviews work. Distributes tools and supplies; inventories and orders tools and supplies. Performs utility locates before construction. Picks up material and supplies and delivers to crews at worksite. Enforces safety regulations. Confers with supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments or crews. Drives dump truck when necessary and required.Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. One (1) year of Street Crew or Closely related experience performing similar duties. License /Certifications:
Class A or B Commercial Driver's License Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
