Parking Meter Technician Location:

Hawthorne, CA Pay Raye:

$23/hour

Hours Available:

Full-Time Hours 6:45am-3:15pm Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday The Parking Meter Technician maintains and repairs parking meters to ensure they function correctly. This position is a driving position and requires a valid CA Driver's License for 2+ years.

Principal Job Duties:

• Install new parking meters and perform routine maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with parking meters.
• Keep records of maintenance activities and meter statuses.
• Coordinate with the site supervisor to address and prioritize meter issues.
• Assist Supervisor with coin revenue collection from meters.
• Assist with any special assignments and projects as requested.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

• General knowledge of streets and directions is required.
• Repair and maintenance of electronic equipment
• Installing, troubleshooting and maintaining electronic parking meters or similar equipment
• Communicating with clients and field personnel, receiving feedback and taking reports from issues reported from the field
• Receiving shipments, maintaining inventory logs and organizing pallets in a warehouse environment
• Online and android software used to manage and troubleshoot equipment issues
• Computer experience using

Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Skills:

• Ability to work independently and multi-task.
• Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and timeliness.
• Must be open to feedback, differing opinions and other points of view.
• Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
• Technology savvy
• Possess an electrical/mechanical aptitude or a willingness to learn new skills
• Ability to handle electronic equipment and parts
• Ability to utilize hand tools and electronics testing devices as required
• Safety minded

Physical Demands:

• Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time (95-100% of shift)
• Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
