Concord Utility Services is hiring Water Meter Specialists to join our field operations team in Anne Arundel County. This is an entry-level outdoor field position where you'll survey, conduct water meter installs, removals, and program smart water meters at residential properties. No previous water or utility experience is required - we'll train you! Our current Leads and Project Managers started their careers as Meter Technicians and advanced through strong performance, reliability, safety, and leadership. High-performing Water Meter Specialists may have the opportunity to advance to Level II in as little as three months. What You'll Do Install, remove, and program smart water meters. Travel between residential locations to complete assigned work orders. Use a Work Order Management System (WOMS) and handheld devices to document completed work. Replace or repair meter boxes, lids, fittings, and related equipment as needed. Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas. Communicate professionally with customers, teammates, and supervisors. Meet daily productivity and quality expectations. Work independently while contributing to a team environment. What We're Looking For We're looking for dependable, motivated individuals who are willing to learn and take pride in their work.
Required:
18 years of age or older. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Pre-employment background check and drug screening. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform physical fieldwork, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 100 lbs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Previous experience is a plus, but NOT required. Experience in construction, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, utilities, maintenance, field service, or other hands-on work is beneficial. What to Expect This is an active, outdoor field position - not an office job. You'll spend your workday traveling between residential locations, completing assigned work orders, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and interacting professionally with customers.
