Job Description

Minnkota Power Cooperative is seeking applicants for the position of Meter Data Administrator in the Power Supply Department at our headquarters in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This position is responsible for the data collection of substation meters owned by Minnkota, Minnkota Members and other utilities. This meter data is used for Billing and reporting requirements for entities such as Midwest Independent System Operator (MISO), other utilities, state and federal agencies. The pay range for this position begins at $83,869 per year. Appropriate compensation will be determined based on a candidate's skills, education, and any previous relevant experience. Essential Responsibilities Meter Data collection Operate the remote meter interrogation system Plan and develop Minnkota's remote interrogation metering system Coordinate remote meter interrogation system processes Meter Data is Collected Daily via phone, cell phone, modems, internet Meter Data Management Work to resolve metering issues with Minnkota members Work to resolve metering issues with other utilities Secure methods to see that the present system is maintained properly The integrity of the meter data is vital to Minnkota, Minnkota members and must be monitored closely Analysis and Reporting Report meter data to members and other utilities Spreadsheets are used extensively for Analysis and Reporting Continued communications with members and other utilities Fulfill requests for processed metering data to any party with a legitimate need Routinely supply meter data to IS, the Control Center and other departments Manage meters, MVWEB and MV90 software Work with communications department on installing and troubleshooting meters Initiate upgrades and maintenance of the remote interrogation metering system Evaluate and implement methods to improve system performance Keep abreast of software and technological changes that relate to improving the existing interrogation system Provide support for Members and special projects in other departments Lend data base design expertise to other departments on a special assignment basis Complete annual and seasonal spreadsheets for Member owners and Municipals Organizational Competencies Safety Integrity Teamwork Innovation Reliability Job Competencies Composure Customer/Member Focus Functional/Technical Skills Learning on the Fly Time Management Goals and Objectives An employee filling this role is expected to meet changing and unique goals and objectives, as established by their supervisor, related to the broader area in which the employee is assigned. Job Qualification Standards Education and Training Requires a two-year vocational school electronics course or equivalent experience Successful applicant will be required to take offsite Certification classes (MV90) Must maintain a valid driver's license Experience Fluent with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office programs required Spreadsheet and Database applications Communication Technician, System Operator, or Meter Technician/Translation preferred Physical and Mental Demands The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is primarily required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend and frequently utilize a keyboard/computer. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent will be required to problem solve, read, write and analyze data, work under schedules and deadline pressure, present information to others, work independently and use discretion and judgment for confidential or sensitive projects/issues.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to an office environment indoors and will travel outdoors to multiple locations dependent on work.
