Overview Join our dynamic team as a Meter Prover Technician, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of utility meters used for measuring electricity, gas, or water consumption. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, perform precise equipment calibration, and support the integrity of utility services. You will be responsible for verifying meter accuracy through specialized testing procedures, maintaining equipment, and providing exceptional customer service to clients and field teams alike. Responsibilities Conduct meter proving and calibration using specialized testing equipment to ensure measurement accuracy in compliance with industry standards. Follow safety protocols rigorously, including DOT regulations, NEC standards (National Electrical Code), and outdoor work safety procedures. Document work activities accurately through detailed reports, logs, and digital data entry while adhering to field service best practices. Engage with customers professionally during site visits to explain meter functions or address inquiries with a focus on excellent customer service. Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines during climbing, manual handling, and outdoor work activities to maintain a safe working environment. Experience Proven experience working in the energy & utilities sector or related field service roles involving meter testing or calibration. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to low voltage systems. Knowledge of safety protocols including DOT regulations, NEC standards, and outdoor work safety procedures. Valid driver's license with experience driving field service vehicles. Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions involving lifting, connecting, operating equipment and working independently.
