Job Description

We are seeking skilled and precision-driven Industrial Mechanical Installers / Millwrights for an upcoming project at a premier automotive manufacturing facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This is a contract, project-based position with a strong potential for extension based on project timeline and performance. You will be responsible for the mechanical assembly, rigging, leveling, and alignment of advanced automated production lines, robotic cells, and heavy machinery, ensuring everything is built to exact automotive specifications.
Core Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum 1+ years of proven experience as an Industrial Mechanical Installer, Millwright, or Rigging Specialist, strictly within the industrial automotive sector (assembly plants, body shops, stamping plants, or Tier 1 suppliers).
Location/Commute:
Must currently reside in the Tuscaloosa, AL area, surrounding counties, or have reliable means to commute daily to the plant without relocation assistance.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in reading and accurately interpreting complex mechanical blueprints, engineered drawings, and plant layouts. Expertise in precision alignment, squaring, and leveling of heavy machinery and robot bases using laser levels, dial indicators, and standard precision tools. Hands-on experience installing, modifying, and assembling automotive conveyor systems (EMS, roller conveyors, friction lines, and lifters). Strong knowledge of industrial rigging techniques, crane/hoist signaling, and safe handling of heavy loads. Familiarity with basic pneumatic and hydraulic piping/tubing installation.
Safety:
Strict adherence to industrial safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, working at heights, and proper PPE. Preferred Qualifications (Plus): Prior experience working on-site or with equipment/installation standards for BMW , Mercedes-Benz, or other premium German automotive OEMs is highly preferred but not mandatory.
