Glazing Technician (Waterproofer Helper) Job Description This role offers a hands-on opportunity for an experienced waterproofer or general construction worker to develop skills in the glazing trade. You will support journeyman glaziers with the fabrication, installation, and glazing of storefront and curtain wall systems, as well as the layout and installation of heavy glass partitions and mirrors. The position involves both waterproofing and mechanical installation tasks and is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, has strong mechanical aptitude, and wants to build a long-term career in commercial glazing. Responsibilities Assist journeyman glaziers with the fabrication, installation, and glazing of storefront and curtain wall systems. Support the layout and installation of heavy glass partitions in commercial settings. Assist with the layout and installation of mirrors according to project specifications. Install perimeter caulking joints to ensure proper sealing and waterproofing of glazing systems. Perform general labor tasks such as material handling, site cleanup, and preparation of work areas. Use a tape measure accurately to take measurements and assist with layout and cutting tasks. Perform mechanical installation of hardware and components associated with glazing systems. Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned tasks. Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs as part of daily duties. Follow directions from journeyman glaziers and supervisors while demonstrating a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Work safely on commercial construction sites and follow all safety policies and procedures. Essential Skills 1-2 years of general construction experience, preferably with sealing and caulking work. Experience using hand tools and power tools in a construction environment. Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately. Familiarity with commercial job site environments and basic construction practices. Experience with caulking and waterproofing applications. Ability to perform mechanical installations of hardware and related components. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly as part of the job. Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and building materials. Demonstrated willingness to work hard, follow instructions, and learn new skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working on commercial-level construction projects. Background in general labor or construction helper roles. Interest in developing a long-term career in the glazing trade. Ability to work effectively as part of a field construction crew. Reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to safety. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Marcos, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
