Job Description

A large Homeowners Association in Helendale, CA, has an opening for a Senior Craftsman. Position primarily performs professional building maintenance and repair work involving a variety of carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, plumbing, HVAC and Evaporator Equipment.
COMPETENCIES
Extensive Knowledge of all trades and HVAC Units 1. Must have current Recovery Certification for HVAC. 2. Current California Driver's License and Insurance required. 3. Extensive working knowledge and trouble shooting skills involving plumbing, electrical, irrigation, welding, carpentry, a/c & heating and concrete work. 4. Complete monthly preventative maintenance of all HAVC and swamp cooling systems. 5. Familiar with the operation of refrigerant and recovery. Ability to trouble shoot electrical components, capacitors, electrical boards, as well as measure amount of refrigerant and log accordingly. 6. Ability to replace or adjust drive belts, maintain and adjust motors, pumps, compressors, and lubricates. Ability to trouble shoot problems with heating, cooling or ventilating systems for proper operation.
PRIMARY DUTIES
1. Carpentry
  • Cut, fit, and assemble wood & other materials for the construction of buildings, offices, counters, sheds, etc., including finish work. 2. Electrical
  • Ability to trouble shoot, Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical system for a variety of purposes. 3. Masonry
  • Patches broken asphalt, concrete and plaster surfaces, replaces loose bricks or ceramic tile. Place and finish concrete and other related materials. 4. Painting
  • Use various types of machines to coat a range of products. 5. Plumbing
  • Install, maintain, and repair several different types of pipe systems. 6. Miscellaneous
  • Replaces glass in windows, doors and partitions, does minor sheet metal work, maintains parking lots, makes minor roof repairs, operates and maintains furnaces and low pressure boilers.
7. Inspects buildings to ensure safety and to determine the need for repair and/or maintenance. 8. Operates powered wood and metal working tools. 9. Maintain and repair various types of equipment and tools. 10. Drive automotive equipment. 11. Responsible for keeping shop area clean at all times. 12. Responsible for washing and cleaning company vehicles. Must be cleaned at the end of each shift. 13. Work safely, maintain a safe working environment and report all accidents immediately to your supervisor. 14. Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
