Job Description
SUMMARY:
Demolition Operator Class 2 is a critical position of the Demolition Team. Construction equipment operators handle loading and excavation machines. All operators must demonstrate consistent dependability, an understanding of job site safety, and the ability to operate heavy construction equipment such as skid steers, excavators, and loaders. The position may operate a variety of construction equipment and may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. Arrive on time to job site with proper PPE (Hard hat, vest, safety boots, safety glasses, gloves). Attend briefing at the start of every project to be assigned tasks and get a general understanding of the Site Foreman's plan. It is the employee's responsibility to ask questions if they do not fully understand their tasks or plan. Inspect all tools, equipment, and work areas before work begins. Execute the plan provided by the Site Foreman, including: Ability to coordinate with Demolition Techs and Truck Drivers. Utilize construction equipment to remove material to be demolished in a controlled manner. Inspect, clean, lubricate and refill all equipment used. Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, project manager, or HR manager. Maintains a clean job site. Picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Drivers License High School Diploma or equivalent. 1 year of heavy construction equipment operating experience. Has reliable transportation to job sites. Able to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team. Can lift loads of 50 pounds with minimal accommodations. Able to follow detailed instructions from supervisors and complete tasks with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy The selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug screening. OSHA 30 Certification is required. At least 1 nationally recognized construction equipment certification is required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, nonexempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.TRAVEL:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.SALARY AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is between $20.00-$40.00 per hour. Other benefits available following standard waiting periods include: partially company-funded medical insurance. Voluntary dental, vision, and supplemental insurance coverage, 401(k) plan with company match, and paid-time-off.Job Type:
