United Aluminum's modern and clean facility is conveniently located off I-91 in North Haven, CT. Our team is growing! We have an immediate opportunity for a Skilled Industrial Millwright on 1st shift to join our valued Plant Maintenance team. This position is a "working millwright" performing skilled journeyman/journeywoman-level work in the maintenance and repair of heavy manufacturing equipment in an aluminum processing plant. This position is located at our only facility in North Haven, CT and requires NO travel. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and correct mechanical problems including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts repairs and preventive maintenance service to ensure reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment; provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production, and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment and plant facility. Prepares and performs mechanic duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of production machines. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Complies with OSHA safety and health rules. May be responsible to perform a combination of the following duties based upon job assignment: Inspect, maintain, repair, and overhaul equipment. Provide preventive and predictive maintenance of the mechanical systems. Conducts daily rounds and readings. Responsible for station lockout/tagout procedures as mandated by company policy. Lead and/or participate in a work party in performing maintenance or repair work. Perform other duties as assigned. Currently, the plant is running 6 days a week, 24 hours. Hours of work would be Monday-Saturday 7am-3pm as well as any hours necessary to keep production running. General Qualifications -
Skills/Competencies/Knowledge:
Requires strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and correct mechanical problems. Experienced implementing workplace safety procedures. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and basic First Aid procedures. Ability to use ladders, scaffolding, and/or a scissor lift while performing job duties. Ability to work with power tools, small motorized equipment, and vehicles. Work safely and cooperatively with co-workers, supervisor, and outside contractors Ability to work independently, as required. Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Required Qualifications 5+ years of demonstrated relevant industrial plant or outside contractor experience performing a wide variety of maintenance and operational tasks servicing comparable heavy industrial equipment.
