Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Summary As an Industrial Technician, you will be responsible for applying mechanical skills, troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance for PLC controls while demonstrating a knowledge of AC/DC theory. Duties include
- Perform preventive maintenance on packaging machinery and mechanical equipment by following diagrams, technical manuals, manufacturer specifications, and engineering guidelines while troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
- Diagnose mechanical issues by observing equipment operation, identifying abnormal sounds, and utilizing precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Minimize production downtime by educating operators on preventive maintenance procedures and monitoring adherence to maintenance standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in PLC programming, including diagnosing control system issues and modifying PLC programs as required.
- Fabricate and repair machine components using machine shop equipment and precision instruments.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories by monitoring stock levels, forecasting requirements, placing orders, expediting deliveries, and verifying received materials.
- Set up, start up, operate, and maintain multiple high-speed packaging lines, integrated conveying systems, and related production equipment.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance supervisors to ensure production lines are properly configured for scheduled products while maintaining equipment performance to achieve production targets and quality standards.
- Ensure production lines operate safely and by performing pre-startup inspections, sanitation, lubrication, and necessary mechanical adjustments before and during production runs.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Ability to work five ten hours shifts from Monday to Fridays and overtime hours as needed. Availability of working on Saturdays and Sundays as per the department schedule. Ability to work first and second shift position.
- Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. Requires physical lifting (may require lifting in excess of 50 pounds).
- Must be able to work in Hot and Cold environments.
- Must be able to work in noisy areas.
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
