This role involves installing railings, awnings, stairs, and other metal products at various job sites while performing shop assembly and fabrication tasks. You will read and interpret measurements, drawings, and installation instructions, use hand and power tools to cut, fit, drill, and assemble metal components, and help transport materials and equipment as needed. You will work both independently and as part of a team to complete projects on schedule, maintain clean and organized work areas, and ensure all completed work meets quality and accuracy standards while following company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Install railings, awnings, stairs, canopies, and other metal products at job sites. Read and interpret measurements, drawings, blueprints, and installation instructions accurately. Perform shop assembly and fabrication using hand tools and power tools. Assist with cutting, fitting, drilling, and assembling metal components according to specifications. Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites and the shop. Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites and shop areas at all times. Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines during shop and field work. Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects on schedule. Inspect completed work to verify quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications. Use tape measures and other measuring tools to take precise measurements and verify dimensions. Operate basic shop equipment as needed for fabrication and assembly tasks.
Essential Skills:
Experience in construction, carpentry, fabrication, metalwork, or a related trade. Ability to accurately use tape measures and common measuring tools. Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and installation guidelines. Experience using hand tools and power tools in a shop or field environment. Ability to climb ladders and work at varying heights when required. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds routinely. Comfortable working outdoors in hot weather conditions. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Ability to pass a measuring test as part of the hiring process.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience installing railings, stairs, awnings, canopies, or architectural metal products. Welding or fabrication experience. Experience operating basic shop equipment. in construction, carpentry, metal fabrication, or related trades beyond entry level. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team setting. Why Work Here? Work Environment:
This role is primarily based outdoors at active job sites, with additional time spent in a shop environment for assembly and fabrication. You will work in hot weather and other changing outdoor conditions, frequently climbing ladders and working at heights. The position involves routine lifting of up to 50 pounds and regular use of hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment. Work hours may include overtime depending on project needs, and you are expected to maintain a neat, safe, and organized workspace while following all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Myers, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
