Position Summary Millwright I is an entry-level maintenance technician responsible for assisting in the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery in a sawmill environment. This role works under the direction of senior maintenance personnel to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. Key Responsibilities Assist in maintaining and repairing sawmill equipment such as conveyors, motors, gearboxes, belts, chains, hydraulic and pneumatic systems Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks and inspections Support equipment installation, alignment, and calibration activities Replace mechanical components including bearings, shafts, and sprockets Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues under supervision Safely operated hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices Respond to equipment breakdowns as directed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols Accurately document maintenance activities and completed work Qualifications Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of industrial equipment Ability to read and use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometers) Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment Strong work ethics and willingness to learn
