Plant maintenance mechanic is responsible for preventative maintenance, repair of facility machinery. As a plant mechanic, you may perform various roles, including fabrication, welding, cutting, repair/troubleshooting of pumps, electric motors, conveyor/auger systems, air compressors, and air/water valves. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Setup, maintain, and service Ready Mix Concrete Plants and associated Equipment. Assists in the maintenance, upkeep, safe and efficient operation of the plant and associated items including, but not limited to the following: Air compressors, air cylinders, pneumatic solenoid valves, lubricators, regulators, and filters. Conveyors, belts, drive systems, rollers, and electric motors. Augers and auger drive systems. Water pumps, meters, valves, and plumbing A variety of other plant equipment, including pressure regulators, relief valves, safety shutdown systems, electric motors, blowers, fans, etc. Troubleshoots machinery and equipment during plant operating and non-operating periods. Performs work in confined spaces. (Training will be provided) Reads drawings, schematics, and repair manuals. Maintains records of work performed and parts replaced on plant machinery and equipment. Prepares list and stocks replacement parts and materials for machinery and equipment maintenance. Responsible for keeping all tools at the assigned facility or assigned service truck in safe and good working condition. Maintains and performs repairs of facility building. Compensation commensurate with experience. Requirements Must be reliable and able to get to work on time Must have basic mechanical tools (within a timely matter) Good work ethic Have flexible hours (must be able to work early mornings and/or evenings.) Speak English fluently Have good people skills Follow OSHA and company safety policies Ability to work at heights (up to 75') Have good mechanical and problem-solving skills Be able to report to different locations to work Must be able to operate heavy machinery Must have a valid drivers license Must be able to lift 75+ pounds frequently Must have basic skills to operate a computer Must be able to pass the pre-employment drug screen and background check
Working Conditions:
Continuous exposure to an outside setting that may require various periods of work in all weather conditions--heat, cold, wet or dry. Additional exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
