A major focus of this role is maintaining the chip and coolant handling systems to ensure reliable operation and minimal downtime. The technician works autonomously on minor mechanical repairs and process tasks such as unplugging sluices, replacing way wipers and piping, and eliminating air, coolant, and hydraulic leaks. This position also provides hands-on support to machine repair technicians for two-person tasks on equipment throughout the facility. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication on machines and equipment in the machine shop, with a strong emphasis on chip and coolant handling systems. Inspect, service, and replace penthouse filters as part of scheduled maintenance activities. Complete preventive maintenance on air handlers, ensuring proper airflow and filtration performance. Perform preventive maintenance on test cell pallets, including inspection, cleaning, and lubrication as required. Conduct preventive maintenance on conveyors, including inspection, adjustment, cleaning, and minor mechanical repairs. Replace way wipers and perform minor mechanical adjustments to ensure machines operate smoothly and within specifications. Identify and eliminate air, coolant, and hydraulic leaks by tightening fittings, replacing components, and verifying system integrity. Support installation, adjustment, and basic troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid systems. Apply basic welding and cutting skills when needed for maintenance and repair tasks, following safety procedures. Use basic electrical knowledge and print reading to assist in diagnosing issues and supporting maintenance activities on CNC machine tools, conveyors, robots, and coolant systems.
