Job Description
Millwright Northeast Indiana and Tri-State Area ($23.00/hour - $33.00/hour - hourly wage based on experience) Company Overview Peña's Mechanical Contractors is a family-owned industrial mechanical contractor doing business in Northeast Indiana for over 20 years. Job Overview A Millwright is responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing machinery and other equipment according to specifications as well as transporting equipment to desired locations as directed using forklifts, fixed cab cranes and other equipment.
Responsibilities:
Build solid foundations for machines Construct/install equipment Disassemble/reassemble the equipment for repair or transportation File/grind machinery parts Transfer equipment accordingly to avoid safety hazards Use efficiently hand tools (measuring tools, welding, and brazing equipment) Determine machine tools and techniques before job completion Interpret blueprints (structural & general fabrication drawings) Travel to multiple construction sites daily Compliance with all applicable safety rules Participate in safety training Maintain and update construction documentation, daily reports, and site pics and safety protocols for each site Work closely with customers, Peña's Project Managers, Owners and Office Staff to oversee projectsExperience/Skills:
Relevant experience with at least 2 years in the millwright trade. (Rigging, equipment moving, motor/gearbox alignment, shive and belt alignment, welding, equipment moving and setting) Equipment operations including Forklift, fixed cab crane, & aerial lift Blueprint reading proficiency a plus Responsible, detail oriented, critical thinking ability and proactive in approach to problem solving Personal attributes: Motivated self-starter, able to understand project scope and lead a crew to success regarding safety, quality, project timing, cleanliness, completeness, and budgetPhysical Demands:
- Regularly lift 30 - 50 lbs.
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks
- Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid CDL (preferred but not required) Physical Requirements Some common physical demands include-
- May need to lift/carry tools, heavy materials, or equipment
- May need to work in elevated areas or on platforms
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination
- Need physical strength to handle heavy materials
- Need to maintain stamina thoroughly
- Need to move around the work area
- Often requires kneeling, bending, and crouching
- Often stand for extended periods during tasks
