Job Description

Quarry Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the equipment and systems in a quarry running safely and efficiently. The role blends mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills to minimize downtime in a heavy industrial environment. Job Summary Maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots machinery and equipment used in quarry operations, including crushers, conveyors, and heavy mobile equipment. Ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently to support production goals.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on heavy machinery such as crushers, excavators, haul trucks, pumps and motors and conveyors to minimize downtime.
Troubleshooting & Repairs:
Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and welding-related issues promptly to maintain production flow. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
Welding & Fabrication:
Use welding skills to repair/fabricate structures, equipment, and safety components as needed.
Safety Compliance:
Follow MSHA regulations, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
Record Keeping:
Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent on tasks for operational and compliance purposes.
Collaboration:
Work with quarry management, safety teams, and external contractors for complex repairs or installations.
Operational Support:
Assist in quarry operations when needed, including operating and maintaining heavy machinery and assisting with equipment installation and upgrades.
Required Skills & Qualifications Experience:
Proven background in maintenance within quarry is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in electrical systems, welding, and heavy equipment operation. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or vocational degree preferred.
Physical Ability:
Ability to work in demanding, often outdoor environments. Climb and work at heights and lift heavy parts.
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
