Job Title:
Maintenance Technician (Rectifying) Job Description The Maintenance Technician (Rectifying) maintains, troubleshoots, and performs preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic production equipment, with a strong focus on rectifying machinery. This role combines hands-on mechanical maintenance with day-to-day operation of the rectifying machine on a highly automated packaging and production line. Responsibilities Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic production equipment, including motors, conveyors, presses, and related machinery. Perform regular preventive maintenance on mechanical and chain-driven machines to ensure reliable and safe operation. Lubricate machines and mechanical components according to established schedules and procedures. Diagnose and resolve basic mechanical issues on production equipment, spending approximately 25% of the time on maintenance tasks. Operate the rectifying machine safely and efficiently, spending approximately 75% of the time on machine operation. Support the operation of highly automated packaging lines, including the selection line and glaze/body preparation areas, as needed. Work on and around tall equipment, including using scaffolding when required, while following all safety procedures. Collaborate with production and other maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and maintain consistent product quality. Use personal hand tools and equipment to perform repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance tasks. Follow all safety guidelines, including use of required personal protective equipment and adherence to facility rules. Essential Skills Hands-on maintenance experience with mechanical production equipment, including motors, conveyors, presses, and chain-driven machines. Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems. Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic systems. Experience operating and performing basic maintenance on industrial machinery, including rectifying or similar equipment. Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks such as inspections, lubrication, and adjustments on production equipment. Comfort working in and around tall equipment and on scaffolding while following safety procedures. Capability to work in environments that can be dusty and hot, particularly around kilns and ovens. Ability to supply and effectively use personal hand tools, or obtain them as required. Willingness and ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, including night shifts as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in mechanical maintenance, military mechanical roles, diesel mechanics, or similar technical trades. Experience with welding and fabrication for repair and modification of equipment components. Familiarity with highly automated packaging lines and industrial production environments. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a large tile manufacturing facility with approximately 140 people on-site. The production environment can be dusty due to tile dust, yet is kept fairly clean and organized. Some areas require working at height on tall equipment, including the use of scaffolding. Conditions around kilns and ovens can be very hot, especially during the summer months. Steel-toe footwear is required for safety, while shorts and cut-off T-shirts are allowed in accordance with facility dress guidelines. The role supports the glaze and body preparation/raw materials line and may also involve work on a highly automated packaging selection line in the front of the plant, which is more comfortable and cleaner than other areas. Shift options include 12-hour schedules on 1st or 2nd shift (such as 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.) and a night shift on a 2-2-3 schedule (6:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.), requiring flexibility to work extended hours in a continuous production environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrenceburg, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
