Northern Maine (Lumber Manufacturing Facility) Job Description We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Millwright to join a lumber manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation. The Millwright plays a key role in supporting production goals while adhering to all safety standards and procedures. Key Responsibilities Report to work on time for scheduled Tuesday-Friday day shifts, prepared to work safely and productively Participate in daily safety and production meetings; communicate concerns to management Perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production machinery Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fabrication-related issues Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas Monitor equipment performance and promptly report or correct malfunctions Follow all safety protocols, including mandatory lock-out/tag-out procedures Use all required safety guards, tools, and personal protective equipment Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner Perform other duties as assigned Equipment & Machinery Operate and maintain industrial sawmill and production equipment Safely use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication tools Adhere to all machinery-specific safety requirements and operational guidelines Required Qualifications Proven reliability and strong attendance Experience with preventative maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment Knowledge of hydraulics, welding, metal fabrication, and pneumatic systems Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Ability to identify, request, and replace mechanical components and parts Strong work ethic with a positive, team-oriented attitude Commitment to all health and safety standards Ability to follow established procedures and best practices Strong verbal communication skills Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (floor to waist) and 40 lbs (waist to shoulders) Ability to push, pull, bend, twist, reach, grip, and perform repetitive tasks Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods (10-11 hour shifts) Additional Requirements Successful completion of a pre-employment physical exam and drug screening Compensation & Schedule Hourly wage range: $26.80-$32.95, based on experience and qualifications Tuesday-Friday day shift schedule Full-time, year-round employment Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off (vacation, personal, and sick leave) Retirement plan options Employee safety programs and training Opportunities for overtime and skill development
