Job Description

Industrial Millwright Mechanic - Aerospace Manufacturing At Howmet Aerospace, we engineer solutions that power quieter, more efficient aircraft and sustainable transportation. Learn more at www.howmet.com. A day in this role On an off-shift schedule, you'll be the go-to mechanical expert who keeps production moving. One hour you might align belts and sheaves on a critical drive, the next you're pipefitting, welding, or fabricating a bracket to get a machine back online. You'll diagnose issues across hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems—then repair, rebuild, and verify proper operation. What you'll handle Mechanical maintenance and repair of production equipment Pipefitting and welding for equipment installation and modification Light fabrication to support custom fixes and improvements Alignment of belts, sheaves, and rotating components Troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems Support for CNC machine installation and commissioning Minimum qualifications High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution Meet at least one of the following pathways: Eight (8) years of documented millwright/machine repair experience Completion of a bona fide apprenticeship program with certificate Journeyman Millwright Journeyman Machine Repair Preferred background Hands-on troubleshooting of machines, including hydraulics and pneumatics Technical strengths we value Die attach/bonding Machine building/assembly Mechanical troubleshooting Pneumatics experience Motor replacement, repair, and preventive maintenance Hydraulics experience CNC machine installation Electrical/electronic systems familiarity Excellent communication and shop math skills Additional requirements This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
