Packaging Mechanic

U.S. Salt LLC is located on the shore of Seneca Lake in Watkins Glen, NY and has been in operation since 1893. Currently an industry leader in food grade and pharmaceutical salt production, US Salt also has a strong presence in oil development, textiles and dyes, and water softener products. US Salt is currently seeking highly motivated and dedicated Packaging Mechanics.

Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year - documented industrial maintenance experience or education.
• Must have a welding certificate or equivalent.
• Must demonstrate ability to read/interpret OEM prints.
• Must demonstrate practical knowledge of power transmissions, conveyors, belting, pneumatics, lubrication, and overall facility equipment.
• Must be willing and flexible enough to work any shift and overtime when business requires.
• Must demonstrate basic computer skills.
• Displays a positive attitude and be an active contributor to the teamwork concept.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Performs various Maintenance mechanical work, such as, but not limited to, repairing and lubricating machinery, as well as changing parts.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of machines and equipment.
• Assess machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
• Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
• Perform cutting, lathe and milling work as needed.
• Perform electrical tasks, such as, but not limited to, changing photo eyes, limit switches, and motors. Will program and adjust VFD parameters, times on photo eyes and switches.
• Collaborates with department managers on shop modifications or alterations to machinery and implements accordingly.
• Works closely with other departments and may be asked to perform miscellaneous tasks such as, but not limited to, machine repairs, occasional operation of machines, housekeeping and safety initiatives.

Pay:

$32.51 per hour
