8-hour shift Overnight shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM Afternoon shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM Position Overview Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing repair and maintenance on all equipment in the plant. This role involves moderate to extreme physical exertion and may require prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working in awkward positions. Hours and physical demands may vary based on operational needs. Responsibilities Perform all duties safely in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as company policies. Conduct preventative maintenance on all equipment. Monitor machinery and make adjustments to ensure proper operation. Perform welding and mechanical repairs on industrial machinery, including those used in material recovery facilities (MRFs). Repair or fabricate conveyors and related component parts. Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards. Complete required paperwork or electronic updates. Operate heavy industrial shop tools and equipment. Interact professionally with internal and external customers. Foster a positive work atmosphere and maintain good relationships with coworkers, clients, and management. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Working knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). PLC knowledge preferred but not required. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Pump and valve knowledge a plus. Ability to troubleshoot up to 3-phase 480v electrical systems. Preventative maintenance mindset. Proficiency with welding and cutting equipment for industrial maintenance. Familiarity with electrical PPE (arc flash suit, insulated gloves, insulated tools). Ability to safely work with energized electrical components (knowledge of
NFPA 70E
standards). Ability to obtain certification to operate powered industrial lift trucks. Willingness to work in all weather conditions. Good written and verbal communication skills. Possess own tools for assigned tasks. Basic computer skills. Additional skills may be required based on specific work location. Minimum Qualifications Legally eligible to work in the United States. At least 18 years of age. Successful completion of pre-employment testing. Ability to read and speak English to understand and follow instructions, safety training, and signage. Working Conditions Exposure to noise, heat, dust, fumes, and chemicals (including caustics and acids in food production environments). Possible exposure to extreme weather conditions.
