OVERVIEW
The Industrial Maintenance Technician (Millwright) is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and improving equipment and machinery throughout Franklin Industries. This position supports safe and reliable operations by performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing equipment failures, completing repairs, fabricating components, and participating in continuous improvement activities. The Industrial Maintenance Technician works with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related industrial systems to maximize equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support production objectives. Minimum Qualifications Required High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Three (3) years of verifiable industrial maintenance, millwright, mechanical maintenance, or related experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems.
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Trade school diploma, vocational certificate, apprenticeship completion, or related technical training.
Experience in heavy manufacturing, steel processing, or industrial production environments.
Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Welding and fabrication experience.
Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Experience performing precision alignment, installation, and equipment rebuilding. Duties and Responsibilities Safety Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Comply with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Identify and report unsafe conditions and equipment concerns.
Perform maintenance activities in a safe and professional manner.
Participate in required safety training. Preventive Maintenance Perform preventive maintenance inspections and servicing on equipment and machinery.
Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and abnormal operating conditions.
Lubricate, adjust, and maintain equipment according to established schedules.
Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks through the CMMS.
Assist in developing and improving preventive maintenance procedures. Troubleshooting and Repairs Diagnose mechanical equipment failures and operational issues.
Repair, replace, and adjust machinery components.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions.
Restore equipment to safe and reliable operating condition. Equipment Reliability Identify recurring equipment issues and failure patterns.
Recommend corrective actions to improve equipment performance.
Support reliability improvement initiatives.
Assist in reducing downtime through proactive maintenance practices.
Participate in root cause analysis activities. Fabrication and Installation Assemble, install, align, and disassemble industrial machinery and equipment.
Fabricate parts and components using available tools and equipment.
Install replacement components and equipment upgrades.
Assist with machinery relocation and equipment projects.
Ensure proper alignment and fit of mechanical components. Documentation and CMMS Complete maintenance work orders accurately and timely.
Document repairs, inspections, parts usage, and corrective actions.
Maintain accurate maintenance records.
Record equipment condition and maintenance history within the CMMS.
Support inventory tracking of maintenance parts and materials. Communication and Teamwork Communicate equipment concerns and repair status to supervisors and production personnel.
Coordinate maintenance activities with operations and production teams.
Assist in training and mentoring less experienced maintenance personnel.

Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, push, and pull.

STARTING PAY
- Typically between $28
- $32/hour (commensurate with experience).
Compensation above our posted rate may be considered for extremely skilled and motivated individuals. OT is paid at 1.5x pay after 40 hours. New employees are eligible for merit raises and more cross training opportunities after passing their 90-day probationary period.
