Job Description
Role and Responsibilities Summary:
The Equipment Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production and packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems while supporting production to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance. The Equipment Technician works closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance personnel to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance- Follow all safety procedures and ensure work is performed safely.
- Use appropriate PPE and comply with company policies.
- Support safe work practices during maintenance and repair activities . Equipment Installation & Maintenance
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production, packaging, and facility equipment.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, damage, or potential failures.
- Replace defective components including motors, bearings, belts, sensors, valves, cylinders, pumps, and other machine parts.
- Calibrate equipment when required.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions using mechanical and electrical testing equipment.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective repairs.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Verify equipment is functioning properly after repairs. Preventive Maintenance & Reliability
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance according to established maintenance schedules.
- Record completed work in the CMMS.
- Recommend improvements that increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Assist in developing preventive maintenance procedures. Production Support
- Support production during machine setup, startup, line changeovers, and shutdown.
- Assist operators with equipment adjustments and troubleshooting.
- Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently throughout production.
- Communicate equipment status and repair needs to supervisors. Equipment Knowledge & Documentation
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Document maintenance activities accurately in maintenance logs, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Maintain awareness of equipment performance trends and recurring issues. General
- Conduct all business in accordance with company policy and procedures
- Perform any additional duties assigned or requested by management. Completes various physical tasks as requested by Manager.
- Collaborating closely with other departments and teams for proactive problem resolutions.

Must be comfortable wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when on the production floor or in any areas where PPE is required.Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma, Electro-Mechanical Technical Training a must. B.S. College degree a plus.
- Five (5)-eight (8) years minimum experience working with production equipment in an industrial, manufacturing, or pharmaceutical environment.
- Three (3) + years of related experience with industrial packaging (cartoning and flow wrap), labeling machines. Rotary die cutting machines a plus.
- Ability to lift objects weighing 25 to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to apply logical thinking to various situations and follow standards, procedures, and instructions. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when applicable:
