Basic Job Functions:
The Mechanical Maintenance Lead position includes but is not limited to being responsible for safely implementing mechanical maintenance, demonstrating the qualities of a safety champion, safely troubleshooting equipment, promoting teamwork within the mechanical shop, and working closely with their electrical and operational counterparts to address issues. Routine duties include preventative and predictive maintenance, equipment and safety upgrades, and planning and execution of maintenance outages and downtime. Willing to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime including nights, holidays and weekends. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of experience in maintenance High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Hot Mill and Pickle Line equipment and processes Industrial maintenance experience including industrial hydraulics Proficient computer skills BS Engineering degree or similar technical training Nucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace
