Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, support systems, and facility infrastructure. This role supports operational uptime by ensuring machinery, kilns, presses, furnaces, and other specialized equipment used in ceramic manufacturing are operating safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Utilize Fiix CMMS software to schedule, track, and document all maintenance activities. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on equipment such as presses & furnaces. Conduct scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance and inspections on manufacturing equipment. Maintain kilns, high-temperature furnaces, vacuum systems, and other ceramic- processing equipment. Diagnose and resolve equipment issues & malfunctions and implement repairs to minimize downtime, including PLC fault finding and advanced troubleshooting. Monitor KPIs and generate reports on equipment performance and downtime. Responsible for quote/order process and inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies. Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades. Develop and implement maintenance procedures and training programs. Perform tool and die set-ups on presses and grinding equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation. Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and environmental regulations. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and process efficiency. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support manufacturing goals and resolve equipment issues. Competent with PLC fault finding and basic programming Occasional call out required
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED. Proficient in Fiix or similar CMMS platforms. 3+ years of experience in maintenance or manufacturing environment. Proficient in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. Experience with PLCs & fault finding, sensors, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical diagnosis and industrial control systems. Familiarity with kilns, ovens, vacuum systems, or similar high-temperature processing equipment. Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
Preferred:
Associate degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field. Certification in electrical or mechanical systems (e.g., journeyman license, NCCER, etc.) Experience in the ceramics, or high-precision manufacturing industry. Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or TPM practices. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, kneel, or climb for extended periods. Comfortable working in environments with high temperatures, noise, and dust (PPE provided). Availability for overtime, on-call, or weekend work as needed.
